Ron Baker

Councillor
  • About Ron

Born in Liverpool in 1946, Ron is married to Elaine, they have 3 children plus 6 grandchildren. They moved into the village in 1983 from Waterloo for many reasons: Elaine could be closer to her Nan Ada Skeaping, who had lived in the village since 1936.

Elaine's Grandparents Alfred and Ada Skeaping paid £450 for their home at 45 Waddicar Lane in 1936. Ron's wife Elaine was born in her Nans and Granddads house 45 Waddicar Lane.

Back in 1936, the view from 45 Waddicar Lane was onto open farmland.

Ron and his wife Elaine knew it was a beautiful area to bring up a family. Plus it was closer to Ron's employers (Littlewoods at Gale road in Kirkby.

Ron became a councillor in 2001. He came onto the Parish Council to try and improve our village where possible therefore making it a better place to live in.

Ron is a former Citizen's Advice Bureau advisor and gained lots of skills and knowledge within that organisation
